PiGs Bring the Party
» » TUESDAY NIGHT’S LATE-NIGHT
opening at FIT Show gave both visitors and
exhibitors the perfect excuse to let their
hair down and the PiGs event on the Balls2
Marketing, Certass & BNP Paribas stand
really showed how the glazing industry
could party.
PiGs Organiser Sarah Ball says: “It was
the busiest stand in the halls and was made
extra-special by Avantis bringing ‘The
Jetters’ to provide some great tunes and
singalongs. We borrowed sponsor QANW’s
stand for the band so there was more room
on ours for our guests. PiGs saw another
great night of networking and catching up
with industry friends, old and new, over a
few drinks. As usual, a special thanks goes
out to our sponsors, who bought beer,
wine, cider and spirits packages to keep
the party going.”
There are thwo more PiGs events
happening this year. PiGs goes to St Judes
in Glasgow on 5 September and the
year finishes off at The Pitcher & Piano in
Birmingham on Thursday 7 November.

» » AS EXHIBITORS RETURN
from FIT, few will be as
satisfied as Haffner Murat.
Dave Thomas, Managing
Director of Haffner Murat,
says: “It was our best show
ever in terms of interest and
orders taken.”
There was plenty to attract
fabricators to the stand but
the star of the show was the
OPTI-Weld quad welding
machine, which can be used
for PVC-U, aluminium and
wooden profiles. Dave says:
“Fabricators could instantly
see the benefits it brings.
Not only can it be used as a
conventional welder, it can
also weld a square without
the need for pre or post
C
cleaning of the profile.”
M
The increasing trend for
fabricators to turn to aluminium Y
CM
as an alternative to PVC-U
was reflected in interest on
MY
the stand. Dave says: “We
CY
have the machines fabricators
need to cater for this market. CMY
Machines attracting the most K
attention were the Spring
CNC Machining Centre and
the TT405 Automatic Double
Mitre Saw. They are perfect
examples of how automation
delivers increased quality,
increased efficiency and
reduced fabrication costs.”
