EXTENDED FLEET OF VEHICLES
ENSURES DELIVERY OF TRUST
As part of its commitment to providing an industry-leading
service to its customers, Thermoseal Group has upgraded
the first of its extensive fleet of vehicles to a 31 ft. truck.
» THIS TRUCK, AS WELL AS THE
addition of 26 ft. trucks with sleeper cabins,
means that the Group can deliver a greater
volume of larger orders on extended delivery
routes, across the UK and Ireland.
Since embarking on its ambitious
Thermobar and Thermoflex warm edge
manufacturing project back in 2010, the
Group has been continually investing in the
infrastructure of the business to meet the
increasing volume of sales of its industry-
leading energy-efficient products.
Thermoseal Group’s Sales Director,
Mark Hickox, tells us: “We are continually
developing the business to ensure that what we
have written on the back of our vans – “When
Trust is Vital, you can rely on Thermoseal
Group to deliver” – continues resonate as
true. Extending the size of our trucks is just
a small part what we’re doing to ensure that
we can meet the increasing demand for our
products.

BELFAST CITY HOSPITAL BENEFITS
FROM BUDGET-FRIENDLY BLINDS
» MORLEY GLASS & GLAZING HAS
recently completed a £500,000 integral blind
installation at Belfast City Hospital’s new
Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
The £20m two-storey building now benefits
from Morley’s SL20 MB system, which was
specifically developed for the project to feature
two operating mechanisms – one for the patient
to control inside their room, and a key operated
override system for nurses to operate externally.
In addition, by using Morley’s Uni-Blind sealed
units with warm edge spacer bars, rather than
the originally specified units with a ceramic frit
to cover the spacer bars, the hospital was able to
save thousands of pounds.
The new purpose-built facility sits on a
three-hectare site within the Belfast City
Hospital estate and combines mental health
inpatient facilities previously spread across
three Belfast sites, including 80 acute mental
health en-suite bedrooms. The unit consists
of five separate interconnecting buildings
arranged around a cloistered central courtyard
and communal and administration areas.

“An asset to our region”
Huddersfield-based glass manufacturers, Specialist
Glass Products (SGP), has received the Eaton
Smith Business of the Month Award.
» SGP WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2003 BY
brothers Andrew and Jonathan Taylor who
saw a gap in the market for particular types of
glass products that other suppliers in the UK
could not provide. Their clients include others
in the glass industry, architects, construction
and steel companies. Its innovative range of
products includes LED smart glass, bespoke
laminates for use in signage such as Crossrail,
and high-performance coated glass used to
reduce energy consumption in buildings.
These are used to keep buildings warm in
winter and cool in summer by reducing solar
gain and heat loss.
Phil Clarke, Partner at Eaton Smith and
member of the judging panel said; “SPG
makes a significant contribution to the
region, employing 80 people from the local
area including apprentices and by leading
innovation in their sector, the company
boosts the profile of Huddersfield as a place
to do business. This business is an asset to our
region.”
SGP will now go forward to the Business of
the Year Award on 3rd July 2020.
