Creating the Right Image
»»Residence 9 (R9) has added a
Window Designer feature to its website,
allowing homeowners to choose a
property similar to their own and see the
transformation with R9 windows. The feature
is available to use now at www.residence9.
co.uk/designer
60% of R9 windows are a colour other than
foiled grained white, and Window Designer
enables homeowners to try different colour
combination windows from the comfort of
their own home. When they submit their
design, it is sent directly to R9 and to their
own email address, so they can refer to it later.
They are then prompted to use the postcode
search on the website to get quotes from their
local R9 installers.
Managing Director Dan Gill says: “The new
Window Designer is a powerful sales tool for
R9 installers to use with homeowners. We have
over 40 colour combinations in stock, so R9
customers can sell colour with confidence.
“It’s much easier to talk about windows
when you can visualise the final product, and
windows are a significant investment - so
confidence is even more important.”

Meeting Requirements
»»Document Q came into force
on 1 October 2015 and left many hardware
products non-compliant.
Tony Chadwick,Trojan’s Group Managing
Director, talks about Trojan’s products and
how they comply. “Many of our core products
already met the requirements of Document Q;
including the Stallion Reverse Espag, the Mustang
Slim Line Reverse Espag, the Mustang Slim Line
Shootbolt, the Pegasus Window Lock, the Stallion
2 Shootbolt and the Mega Egress Hinge.
‘left many hardware
products non-compliant’
“Trojan’s door hardware products also met
the requirements of Document Q, including
the Patriot Plus 3D High Security Door
Hinge, the 3D High Security Composite
Door Hinge, the PAS 24 Stainless Steel Letter
Plate and the TS007 2* Stainless Steel Door
Handle.
Document Q states that all windows and
doors installed in new dwellings need to
conform to PAS 24:2012.
Tony concludes, “New legislation always has
the capacity to worry fabricators and installers.
But our core products met the requirements
of the changes to the law and have done for
some time.”

A Clear Message for 2016
»»Full-service marketing
agency Purplex has reminded businesses of
the importance of clear marketing messages –
and how to get it right when connecting with
target audiences.
That was the underlying message in the
company’s Christmas video, a light-hearted
work produced by the Purplex video team
using stop-motion animation.
It showed Santa having an identity crisis and
calling on Purplex for help. “Although cheerful
and fun-filled, our Christmas video conveyed
an important message,” said Andrew Scott,
Purplex Marketing MD. “In today’s fast-paced
world, it’s vital to have clear marketing messages
and a consistent brand identity across all
marketing channels, offline and online.
“It takes a lot of skill, planning and
resources to create an effective marketing
strategy, which is why partnering with experts
is the right thing to do. We also felt it was a
unique and fun way to wish a prosperous New
Year to our present, past, and future customers
in the construction industry and build
environment.”
