1 ST AND 2 ND PLACE HONOURS FOR
QUICKSLIDE IN NFA AWARDS
» » WEEKS OF ANTICIPATION
were finally over when Quickslide
was announced as winners
of the National Fenestration
Awards’ Vertical Sliding Window
Company category on 2 nd
November. The NFA’s Winners
Week commenced on Monday
29th October and was filled with
surprises, as just one day before
their champions’ victory, the
Yorkshire-based firm was awarded
second place in the Sliding Patio
Door Company category behind
contemporary-style winners
Eurocell.
It’s not surprising though,
when the man at the helm is
slowly becoming synonymous
with the attitude that windows
should be viewed ‘as furniture’.
Chairman Adrian Barraclough
believes that the aesthetic qualities
of windows are just as important
as their practical uses and should
be considered for alteration or
modernisation with the same
frequency as carpets or curtains.
“Winning a category that
Quickslide feels so passionate about
is fantastic, and we are indebted to
the designers and engineers who
make our products as beautifully
functional and visually pleasing as
they are. You often wonder how
your industry colleagues see you
from the outside, so to take these
accolades back to the team is a real
pat on the back.”

‘Ticking a very important box for sustainability’
» » LONG-STANDING VEKA
fabricator Grosvenor Windows has removed,
recycled and replaced 160 windows for a
respected Macclesfield housing association.
Working with VEKA and VEKA Recycling,
Grosvenor was not only able to recycle
the old frames, but also install
high quality recycled VEKA
systems into Arcon’s Fir Court
development.
Grosvenor Windows’
Dominic Mills explained:
“We’ve worked with Arcon
Housing Association a number
of times before. They know the
quality of our work is top notch – both
fabrication and installation - and that the
systems we provide meet all the relevant
specification requirements. For this project, we
used VEKA’s Infinity recycled system which
the client was very impressed with. It has a
core of up to 80% recycled PVC-U and then
just a skin of virgin polymer to ensure it looks
exactly like new. This means it has all the
same benefits as brand ‘new’ frames when it
comes to style, weather performance, security,
energy efficiency etc – but it also ticks a very
important box for sustainability.”

TILED ROOF SYSTEM TOPS OFF A GRAND EVENT
» » RENOWNED PRESTON-BASED
roofing specialists SupaLite is celebrating
a successful appearance at Grand Designs
Live, with strong interest in the full range of
replacement tiled roof systems.
Grand Designs Live is the marquee
attraction of UK Construction Week, which
features nine specialist shows, and attended
by thousands of industry professionals, self-
builders, homeowners and enthusiasts every
year.
James Casby, Sales Manager at SupaLite,
says: “Shows like this form an important part
of our brand awareness strategy, allowing
homeowners and consumers to get hands-on
and learn more about our systems and how
they can transform their current conservatory
or orangery.
“It’s a strategy which is paying dividends
as our customers report that homeowners are
referring to the brand by name and heading
into showrooms and enquiring for a SupaLite
tiled roof, which is only good news for our
valued trade partner network.”
Over the past few years, SupaLite tiled roofs
have blazed a trail in both the retro-fit and
new-build markets, providing tradespeople
with a highly desirable and valuable product
which transforms the performance of both
conservatories and orangeries.
