Clearview’s Hairy Bunch
»»In a month where
the UK has seen a catalogue of
charitable events, members of
the Clearview Publishing Group
have set about to make their own
contribution.
Four members of the publishing
company have chosen to grow
their facial hair in support of
‘Movember’, a promotional
campaign designed to raise the
awareness of health problems
amongst men.
Andy Davis, Tom Cartledge,
Steve Sidebottom and Ian
Wilkinson all ‘downed’ their
shavers to help raise money
and grow a moustache through
November.
Andy Davis, Sales Account
Manager, Clearview commented:
“To be fair, I was persuaded by
my fiancé to take part in the
event. I wasn’t sure if at 40, I was
capable of growing a moustache,
but I decided to show my
support to a family member, who
suffered from Prostate cancer.”
The Movember Foundation has
been set up to hi-light awareness
of men’s illnesses and is supported
by some large corporate branded
companies. The Foundation raised
£20.4 million in 2013.

2014 has been a year of accelerated development and growth for the Clearview Group.
»»The Barnsley-based publishing
company produces four flourishing
publications; Clearview, Pro Installer,
Locksmith and Farmers Mart, popular titles
which are recognised and well-received within
the industries they operate. The development
of the magazines during 2014 is a reflection
of the passion shared by co-owners; Steve
Sidebottom, Rob Exley, Ian Wilkinson and
staff.
Under their guidance, the organisation
has seen a prosperous year, investing in larger
premises in Barnsley to cater for the growth in
staff and developing IT systems to support the
growing customer database, helping to offer
customers an efficient experience when dealing
with Clearview.
Steve Sidebottom, Clearview Group
Director reflects on 2014: “I’m thrilled by the
development of the business this year. We have
more than doubled both our sales revenue
and the amount of staff we now employee.
What’s more, we have great staff retention
record and have been very lucky to find new
employees that have fitted in perfectly with the
vibrant atmosphere and ambitious ethos of the
company, all of whom are already going from
strength-to-strength.
“On reflection, the success of this year is
down to a number of factors; an increase
in the number of advertisers, believed to be
brought on by the growing confidence of the
marketplace, and customers investing more
this year in marketing, as well as increased
