3 STAR RATED LOCK ADDED AS STANDARD
»»Avocet Hardware has praised
Glazerite Windows for its decision to fit its
ABS snap secure lock, as standard, on all of its
Secured by Design (SBD) accredited doors.
Raymond Pearce, Avocet Hardware’s
Head of UK sales, said: “Lock-snapping has
become a huge issue in recent years and one
of the main reasons for its rise in prevalence
is the number of double glazed and PVCu
doors being sold with locks that simply aren’t
secure.
“Glazerite’s decision to tackle this problem
through the incorporation, as standard, of the
UK’s safest lock has to be applauded and I
hope others will quickly follow suit.”
Avocet’s ABS lock is one of the only retrofit
products in the country to be both TS007
3-star rated and hold Sold Secure’s SS312
Diamond accreditation, the latter being
awarded only after the most strenuous and upto-date testing procedure in the UK.
The ABS locks feature anti bump, snap, pick
and drill technology, and incorporate a unique
patented snap secure locking technology,
which allows sacrificial sections to break off
during an attack, leaving the door fully secure,
but open-able by key afterwards.

New lead generation weapon for installers
»»A new marketing
service has been launched
by industry experts; Purplex
Marketing and is already helping
installers promote their business
and generate leads.
‘GoSend.it becomes
a cost-effective,
targeted marketing’
The online platform combines
the latest ‘print on demand’
technology with a consumer
database of 29 million UK
households. The system prints
and sends personalised drop-card
mailers directly to neighbours
around a given address.
Sean Scott, Account Manager
at Purplex, said: “Using dropcards around a recent installation
helps promote installers business,
and receiving a Royal Mail
delivered, personalised mailer card
builds trust and credibility.”
“Installers log on to the
website, register and upload their
logo. Next, they select a card
template and once happy, they
add the project address and decide
how many cards to send; GoSend.
it does the rest.”
“Asking sales people or
fitters to deliver drop cards
is not very efficient. With
prices from just £1 per card
and being delivered within
3-5 working days, GoSend.it
becomes a cost-effective, targeted
marketing.”Sean commented.
