C O M »»The system, set up by FENSA and its Approved Insurance Providers, allows automatic notification of installations from FENSA to the insurance company, which automatically issues IBG policies direct from the insurance company to the homeowner, and billing direct from the insurance company to the installer. However, there are a number of installers that have yet to provide FENSA with details of their chosen IBG provider and cannot self-certify. Installers not issuing an IBG policy will find their FENSA membership will stop, and will be unable to register with another glazing Competent Persons Scheme, for being in breach of FENSA rules. “Unfortunately, there is no hiding place for installers trying to duck out of IBGs,” says FENSA Managing Director, Chris Mayne, “The system is computerised and we can immediately see installers who do not have an IBG supplier in place.” Fensa’s rule provides customers with an Insurance Backed Guarantee should the Registered Business, for whatever reason, cease to trade. Mayne adds: “We have a duty to FENSA registered businesses that are playing by the rules and to ensure homeowners are covered.” For further information visit www.fensa.co.uk www.clearview-uk.com Wishing you a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year
