OUTDOORLIVING BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN (TO BRAND NEW SHOWROOM) » » THE OPENING OF THE NEW flagship showroom at Prefix Systems proved to be a huge success, as the industry media and customers all enjoyed the event, themed as ‘The Greatest Showroom’ and experienced a wide range of perfectly presented products and systems on display. After several months in construction, the new showroom has been developed to showcase the entire Prefix product range that includes glass roofs, solid roofs, rooflights, Verandah and a complete range of aluminium windows and doors under the new OPAL brand umbrella. To support the event there were also hot drinks and pizza vans, serving drinks and food during the lunchtime and well in to the afternoon. Prefix Systems is the UK’s largest independent fabricator of conservatory roofs with a history that dates back to 1996. Run by Chris Baron and Chris Cooke, the leading Ultraframe fabricator operates from a head office in Blackburn, Lancashire – where the new showroom is situated - and from three further manufacturing sites in Northamptonshire, Swansea and Worthing. Prefix is pioneering the extended living space market with the WARMroof tiled roof system, URBANroom roof solutions and newest product; the Verandah alongside the Refurbish My Conservatory and A New Room lead generating marketing initiatives. ‘It was a fantastic day for us with both the trade media and our valued customers in attendance’ Chris Cooke, director of Prefix Systems commented: “It was a fantastic day for us with both the trade media and our valued customers in attendance with strong numbers. We also invited members of staff so they too could enjoy a cappuccino and some pizza, but ultimately we’ve now presented our first flagship showroom to the industry and will look to follow this up with others at all four regional branches.” With around 100 people in attendance (some travelled from far afield as Southern England and Scotland) it was a good day for all and those customers wishing to visit the showroom with their own prospects, can now do so in a new premium sales environment, as an extension or in support of their own showroom. As a trade only supply Prefix customers can use the facilities without fear of conflict and with or without the support of Prefix staff. www.prefixsystems.co.uk PreVENTing Heat Build Up in style » » ULTRAFRAME HAS ANNOUNCED the launch of its new slimline roof vent, which not offers a striking contemporary look, but is also thermally broken and has been engineered for long lasting performance. Ultraframe Design & Development Director, Andrew Thomson, said: “Many installers are reluctant to add roof vents into a conservatory, but as hotter weather continues in the UK, they are increasingly important and are one of the fastest ways of ventilating a conservatory during the warmest months of the year. Our new slimline vent fits perfectly with the new contemporary styles of conservatories that are becoming more and more prominent in the marketplace.” Featuring a powder coated aluminium sash as standard, along with the option of aluminium internal claddings on the Ultrasky roof and Ultrasky Lantern, the new vent is thermally broken to ensure optimum thermal 70 » AUG 2019 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M performance and boasts a PVC welded frame to eliminate any chance of leaks. Weather baffles and a built in internal drainage system also ensure maximum protection from the elements. Explaining further about the new roof vent, Andrew continued: “By incorporating the best features of a rigid powder coated aluminium sash and a fully welded, chambered and thermally efficient PVC base, we’ve ensured that the new vent will provide protection against the elements. Its old counterpart comprised many parts which provided more opportunity for the vent to fail in terms of leaks and so when designing the new one; we’ve created a welded PVC frame to eliminate this issue. The new vent is also a dry product unlike the old one which relied on silicone for assembly, and could look unsightly if not applied perfectly.” The high quality powder coated paint finish on the new roof vent is available in white as standard with any other RAL colour available on request. An optional electric motor sits unobtrusively within the vent rebate and can be controlled automatically or by remote control for multiple vent zoned applications. As with all Ultraframe products, fitter friendliness has been designed into the product and the new vent is simple to glaze with no beads, offering an attractive finish and higher security. Fully tested, the new roof vent is severe rated when tested to BS5368 Parts 1 & 2; BS6375 Part 1 2009. trade.ultraframe-conservatories.co.uk
