TMI? Not When It Comes to CV Group …
» I HEARD AN OLD PHRASE THE OTHER DAY: TMI. TOO Much Information. It got me thinking about how much we love an abbreviation in the fenestration industry. We’ re rarely short of a few letters to remember, particularly when regulations and legislation enter the conversation.
Add technical terminology, compliance requirements and product innovations to the mix, and it can sometimes feel like information overload. WTF? That’ s,‘ What the fenestration’, of course.
But in an industry where keeping up to date is so important, can there really be such a thing as too much information?
BTW, this month marks a rather special milestone for Clearview as we celebrate our 300th issue.
That’ s 300 issues of news, views, features, interviews, product launches and industry insight. Three hundred opportunities to share knowledge, explore challenges, celebrate achievements and keep our readers connected with what’ s happening across the sector. FYI, that’ s a considerable amount of information. Over the years, we’ ve covered an industry that rarely stands still. Technologies have advanced, regulations have changed, legislation has evolved and businesses have continued to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. Keeping up can sometimes feel like a race against the clock, with new developments to understand and changes to get to grips with ASAP. Through it all, our aim has remained the same: to bring you the stories, developments and people that matter to the fenestration industry.
Reaching 300 issues would not have been possible without the support of our readers, contributors, advertisers and the wider industry. Thank you to everyone who has shared their news, expertise and experiences with us along the way.
300 issues is another reminder of just how quickly time passes. We’ re approaching the end of 2026, with just one more issue to come before we turn our attention to a new year. Where has the time gone? There’ s still plenty to discuss before then, and as we look towards 2027, I’ m sure there will be no shortage of developments, challenges and opportunities to keep us talking.
So, is there such a thing as TMI? Perhaps. But when it comes to sharing knowledge, keeping up with our industry and celebrating 300 issues of Clearview, a little more information is always welcome.
TTFN, Gemma
TURNING HEARTBREAK INTO HOPE
» KAREN STARKEY, GROUP Head of HR at Conservatory Outlet Group, is taking on the British Heart Foundation’ s Strong Woman Challenge to honour Gerry, who sadly died four years ago, aged 67, from an undiagnosed heart condition.
After 38 years of marriage, they had been looking forward to enjoying retirement together, but his sudden loss not only changed their lives but also meant he missed out on the precious family moments they had hoped to share.
Now, she is determined to turn her devasting experience into something positive by increasing awareness for the charity, as well as raising more than £ 1200 to support its work to improve heart health and help prevent other families from experiencing a similar loss.
“ I want to raise awareness so that there are no more deaths from undiagnosed heart conditions and also to ensure screening is in place for early detection. Supporting the British Heart Foundation means they have additional funding to introduce more measures to check for these types of health issues,” commented Karen, who has worked at Conservatory Outlet Group for more than eleven years.
The Strong Woman Challenge will see her commit to 31 days of strength training, with a focus on everyday physical activities, building strength, improving posture and boosting her overall fitness and mental wellbeing.
However, this is about more than physical fitness. It is also an opportunity to prioritise her own health and wellbeing while honouring Gerry’ s memory and helping to protect other families from the heartbreak she has experienced.
Reflecting on the future they had planned together, Karen said:“ Losing my husband when he was 67 meant we did not get the chance to share, or importantly, enjoy our retirement plans. Neither did he get the opportunity to meet both his grandchildren and experience the joy they bring.”
Seeing the pain her sons experienced following the loss of their dad has given her an additional source of motivation to complete the challenge, with the focus now being on raising awareness of undiagnosed heart conditions and encouraging greater attention towards early detection.
