National Home Security Month
Looking beyond the front door
The front entrance naturally receives a great deal of attention when people think about home security, but a property’ s defences are only as strong as its weakest accessible point.
Modern homes increasingly feature large, glazed doors, often at the rear of the property. Homeowners want light-filled spaces and stronger connections between their homes and gardens but achieving that shouldn’ t mean compromising on security.
Endurance ® Aluminium products combine the inherent strength and rigidity of aluminium with security features including multipoint locking systems, ABS Master cylinders, and windows that are internally beaded as standard. Furthermore, all Endurance ® Aluminium windows, glazed doors and bi-folds are Part Q compliant, meaning they meet the Building Regulations requirements to resist physical attacks and forced entry.
This means that installers can talk to homeowners about security across the property, rather than focusing solely on the front door – while still delivering the slim frames, larger expanses of glass and contemporary aesthetics their customers want.
Eligible Endurance ® composite and aluminium products fitted with the ABS Master Cylinder are also backed by a
£ 2,000 security guarantee, whereby the homeowner will receive £ 2000 if entry is gained to their home by snapping the ABS Master lock.
For the homeowner, this again provides additional reassurance, and for our Installer Partners, it is another tangible way of demonstrating the confidence that sits behind the security specification they are recommending.
Helping installers tell the story Of course, having a strong security proposition is only useful commercially if installers can communicate it effectively.
This is an area where we are investing heavily at Endurance ®. We see our installers as partners rather than simply customers, and part of that partnership is giving them the tools, content and marketing support to help turn product benefits into compelling reasons for homeowners to buy.
Our marketing team produces professional imagery, along with bespoke creative assets and campaigns that Installer Partners can use within their own businesses, while our in-house content creation capability provides high-quality video and social content designed to bring products and their benefits to life.
Digital tools such as the Endurance ® Door Designer also help make the sales journey more engaging, allowing homeowners to explore the product visually and giving Installer Partners another way to start conversations around the specification and benefits that matter to them.
This support is particularly valuable with something like security. A solid timber core or anti-snap cylinder isn’ t necessarily visible in a finished installation, so powerful imagery, video content, and digital tools can help installers to explain to homeowners exactly what they are investing in.
For us, that’ s an important part of creating a culture of excellence. Investing in product development is only one side of the equation. We also need to invest in the people, skills, technology and marketing that help our Installer Partners communicate that value, generate leads and build stronger businesses.
More than a specification
National Home Security Month provides a timely reason for homeowners to look again at their property. Are the windows and doors old, damaged or no longer locking properly? Does the rear of the home offer the same level of protection as the front? And do they really understand the security offered by the products they already have?
For installers, October creates a natural opportunity to start those conversations with existing and prospective customers.
Security can be difficult for consumers to judge by appearance alone, which makes an installer’ s knowledge particularly valuable. Being able to explain what sits behind the specification – and having the right marketing tools and resources to help tell that story – allows our Installer Partners to demonstrate why a premium product represents real consumer value.
National Home Security Month may put security under the spotlight for October, but homeowners need that protection 365 days a year.
And ultimately, that’ s what Elevate Every Day means in the context of security: products that don’ t simply look good or perform well on paper but make a meaningful difference to how people experience their homes every day – backed by Installer Partners who have the products, knowledge and support to deliver that value.
