‘ GAMECHANGER ’ NEW PRODUCT OF THE YEAR
» BOOTLE-BASED ODL Europe is a finalist in the New Product of the Year category for its Guardsman Fire Door . The Guardsman Fire Door is a gamechanger for the composite fire door sector because it delivers better , more reliable protection than other composite fire doors on the market . Guardsman has been tested to the European fire test standard of EN 1634 , the more onerous test standard required by Part B of Building Regulations . And in the most recent tests to EN 1634 , it has achieved an average of 100 % overrun past the 30-minute mark . At the extreme , this 30-minute fire door has achieved over 70 minutes . investment by ODL Europe . The company worked with the engineers at its partner Capstone , the world-leading supplier of composite doors , and several experienced fire door fabricators .

Third-in-a-row prize ‘ would be so special ’
» VICTORIAN SLIDERS HAS been named a finalist in the vertical sliding window company category at the 2021 National Fenestration Awards – a prize it ’ s won for the last two years in a row . The Ammanford-based firm has also been nominated in the fabricator / manufacturer category again .

EYES ON THE PRIZE DURING ‘ FANTASTIC YEAR ’
» BIRMINGHAM WINDOW AND door manufacturer Shelforce has been nominated for Best Fabricator at this year ’ s G-Awards .
After being crowned the 2021 Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce ( GBCC ) Business of the Year and winning the Excellence for People Development award at the same event , it ’ s been a fantastic year for the company .
Shelforce ’ s Business Manager Howard Trotter said : “ We ’ ve been very lucky to win some massive awards this year , but as an industry prize , the G-Award is the highest possible accolade in glass and glazing .”
