Report from AP Successful convening of the seminar on “The Challenges before the Forces Struggling to Change the Present System”! A state level seminar was held at Guntur on 18&19 May 2019 on “Challenges faced by the forces struggling to change the present system in India”. It was the part of call given by the cc of CPI(ML) to held seminars at state level in continuation of All India seminar held at Hyderabad in September 2018. Comrades C. Peddanna, Ganesh Panda and MS Nagaraju acted as presidium. The seminar paid homage to all those who laid their lives in the struggle to establish socialist society. Com. S.Jhansi, state leader of CPI(ML), in her inaugural speech narrated the present situation and called for the united activity on all the agreed peoples problems. She explained the aim of seminar and requested comrades to express their opinions freely on the challenges faced by the progressive forces. Com. P.Jaswantha Rao, CCM of CPI(ML) explained the contents of the Key Note prepared by the Central Committee. While reiterating the understanding of CPI(ML) on issues such as forms of feudal exploitation, class composition in rural India, caste system, communalism, reformist outlook and others, he called upon comrades to express their opinions on them. Though there are differences, they will not come in the way of acting unitedly to demand implementation of land reforms, rights of adivasis, dalits and working class, he said. Those who are opposing and fighting imperialism and feudalism should 22 come to a common understanding to the possible extent and take up united action against these enemies of the people. To facilitate this process, CPI(ML) started the discussion in the form of national seminar, he reiterated. Com. Ramakrishna, AP state Secretary of CPI, said that the communists have commonness of 90 per cent of issues and they have to solve the remaining issues through discussions. He opined that CPI had not made a comprehensive study on the caste system and ignored Ambedkar and Phule. The slogan of Laal and Neel had a good response and we have to combine Marxism-Leninism with the thinking of Ambedkar and Phule. He said that we have to discuss deeply on this aspect and there is every need for the reunifi- cation of communist movement. Com. P.Madhu, state secretary of CPI(M). expressed opinions on the points in Key Note and explained some of them. CPI(M) completely agrees to work jointly though there are ideological and political differences. He mentioned the survey conducted by CPI(M) and opined that capitalist relation have taken upper hand in agricultural sector, He underscored the need for united action of all the communists. Com. Chittipati Venkate- swarlu,State leaders of CPI(ML)- ND, explained the note presented to the seminar, He said a deeper discussion on the points raised in the Key Note with limited representatives needed to arrive at a common understanding. Com. Amarnath, leader of SUCI, said that the Indian bourgeoisie utilized the public sector to grow as some kind of imperialists and it cannot discharge the task of demo- cratic revolution, This revolution is not going to achieve through parliamentary process and needs revolt of working class. The scientific solution is to achieve the unity of class forces overcoming casteism, communalism and national chauvinism. He called upon the ten left parties to go ahead by correcting the lapses in the united activity. Com. T.sivayya, leader of MCPI(U), said it requires tenacity to bring all the communist parties on to one platform. Feudalism changed its forms by shedding cruel and naked forms of exploitation, he said, yet land remains as key issue in rural India. One has to correctly assess the changes that took place in rural India after globalization. He said that it is our responsibility to build a strong movement against three enemies of people – imperialism, feudalism and capitalism. Com. Satyanarayana, leader of CPI(ML)-Liberation, said that most of the points in the Key Note are agreeable to all of us. We have to form a broad forum for peoples problems and only through this process differences can be resolves, he said. Com. Arasavilli Krishna of VIRASAM said that the points in Key Note are very pertinent and we have to commonly find solutions to them. contd. on page 23 Class Struggle
