Championed by Daniel Barenboim and renowned for the clarity and feeling of his Beethoven playing , pianist Saleem Abboud Askhar begins his series , reaching across the coming seasons , of the seminal piano sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven with the outward glitter of the C major Sonata , the fate-filled C minor Sonata and the almost naïve purity of the sonata in E flat . Finally he plays the most famous of all – the singing restraint and brooding unrest of Beethoven ’ s iconic ‘ Moonlight ’ Sonata .
