Spanish for Non-Spanish Speakers
Location: Harvard Street Campus
Spanish classes are offered in three levels: beginning, intermediate, and advanced. The
beginning class instructs students in basic vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and read-
ing. The intermediate class focuses on a variety of communication activities to
develop verbal skills for everyday life. Lastly, the advanced class includes activities to
enhance students’ understanding and ability to participate in conversations regarding local
and global issues.

Small Business and Entrepreneurship Workshop
Location: Harvard Street Campus
The Business Workshop Series is offered Saturdays for students and community members
interested in starting a business or those looking to learn more about business manage-
ment and growth. The workshops feature guest speakers who own business and those
who support entrepreneurs. The first workshop sessions focus on honing a business idea,
concept or model and the final workshops on the development of a Business Plan and
business registration.

ServSafe® in Spanish
Location: Harvard Street Campus
This two-month program is for adults with experience working in commercial kitchens:
restaurants, hotels, or catering services. This certification class helps students obtain a
food handling manager’s credential with the DC Department of Health.
Requirements:
- Spanish reading level of 5th grade or higher
- SUPERA test score of 4.6 or higher
