Graduation
“...Look around, do Lily or I still
have a pixie cut? Do Rocky or
Frankie still have a mullet? No
we don’t, because we changed.
We took what we had, and we
grew from it. Maybe middle
school wasn’t ideal. There were
definitely broken friendships
and a lot of awkward moments,
but we got through it. Yes, it’s
scary to move on to high school
and look around and not see
familiar faces, but we will always
remember that we have Sacred
Heart in the back pocket of
our plaid skirts or khaki pants.
We will always have ‘Coeur de
Jésus’ ringing in our heads.
We will always have 79 other
students that we can count on.
The bonds that we have formed
throughout the years are bonds
that will never, ever break. ...”

Commencement Address,
Academy of the Sacred Heart
“...How were my years at Sacred
Heart defined? … I have learned
I am capable, but I may need
a little extra time to show it. I
have learned to advocate more
for myself. I have learned I am
kind. I have learned I am a good
friend. I have learned I am funny.
I have learned I talk way too
much in class. I help people
when they are hurt. I know that
everybody likes to be included.
I know that even confident
people feel lonely sometimes.
I know how to respectfully
debate. I know countless facts
about countless things that
may never matter. ...I have had
successes and failures. I may
not have had the most unique
journey here, but I have had an
impactful one. ...”
