PAGE 7 Matt Hormann, City Council Candidate Name, Age, Occupation, Address Matthew Hormann, age 33, Farmer, 804 Ball Street Why do you feel you are the most qualified candidate to fill the open council seat? I have been part of the community my whole life, and I've seen some good changes and some bad changes. I would like to see more positive things on the horizon. I feel being a farmer brings a good sense of business knowledge out in a person that I feel that I can in turn bring to the city. I care about the community and want to see everything and everyone thrive. I have a wife and 2 young children and want to make sure they grow up in a safe community. Do you have any specific issues you feel need to be addressed in our community? “I think the I think we should be worried about our deteriorating infra-structure and streets. If we don't start doing a little more about it now we are going to really pay in the long run. library is a good start at trying to modernize the building landscape of downtown.” CLARENCE What are you positions on current community projects, such as the library building project, downtown beautification and promotion of new business in Clarence? How will you, as a councilperson, assist in promoting these projects? I think Clarence has a lot going for it, and a chance to capture more. We need to keep the biggest employers in town, I hate to see the co-op taking storage out of our community, we need to work in a way to build new in the future. We need more local support for the small businesses, to bring new ones in. I think Clarence does a good job of keeping the downtown clean and beautiful looking with the potted planters. I think the library is a good start at trying to modernize the building landscape of downtown. I will do my best to ensure that what people of the community want and need gets strong consideration in a timely fashion. If anyone has anything they need addressed just stop me and bring it to my attention and we will try to figure out the best way to handle it. Thanks for your time, I look forward to serving Clarence in the future. -Matt COMMUNITY N EWSLETTER
