Knight News By Mike Cooper Superintendent North Cedar Community School District We have had a great start to the school year and our enrollment is right where we were a year ago which is great news. We were projected to be around 13 students less than last year as we graduated 60 students and brought in 47 kindergartners. We had a Tech Boot Camp for our teachers the week before school started and brought in nationally know tech consultant Meg Ormiston to train our teachers during this week. We had a great turnout of around 45 teachers and the reviews were that this was a great experience for them as we progress rapidly towards implementing more technology into the classrooms. The teachers of grade Pre-K-6 can request iPads to use in their rooms with their students and we are very close to distributing these to them so students can being working on the iPads for educational purposes. Technology is the way students will learn in the future and here at North Cedar we want to expose them to the devices they will be using in the future that will assist their learning.
