Cultural Activity: “Cookies”
Cookies is a trailer show performed by Theatergroep Oostpool. It is about reality and identity, and
about cookies. It is directed by Joeri Vos.
I went there because it is an activity we were obliged to do in the activities week. I had no real
expectations, since last time there was a trailer show I was in Australia.
There were three actors, Ilke Paddenburg (Kat), Hanne Struyf (girl with Birthmark) and Lowie van
Koers (Mark).
The show was in a trailer
where our class and our
teacher were put in. The
setting in the trailer was a
small living room of an
average student, but with very
modern and new. There are
price tags still on everything.
Mark and Kat have a
relationship and live here.
Mark works on a redaction. He
is ambitious but still is a bit of
a student, not really secure
and sure of what he wants.
Kat is sarcastic and
spontaneous.
Mark tells he was in a café, and says he saw a girl with a birthmark on her forehead. She was
attractive to him. Suddenly, she enters the room, but Kat can’t see her. She creates chaos for mark
and emphasizes that he should make something out of himself, do something to get a better job.
