I am delighted to note that Kathmandu
University Civil Engineering Club (KUCEC) has
organized Sankalpa, its annual program, and
launched the second issue of Civil Insight .
Civil Engineering is at the core of national
development both from the point of infrastructure development and socio-economic
transformation. It primarily assures people that prosperity is possible through local and
national initiatives. Our program in Civil Engineering is of paramount signifi cance to
the country for its specialization in hydropower, which is one of the core development
priorities of the recent times.
The Department of Civil and Geomatics Engineering with its dedicated faculty, staff, and
the students keen on translating the vision of national service into reality deserve more
encouragement and support.
The publication of ‘Civil Insight’ represents the commitment of the Department and its
students and, overall, the University’s vision of ‘Quality Education for Leadership”.
I congratulate the Department and KUCEC for their noble efforts.
