The City of Laguna Niguel is a proud member of the H2OC
Stormwater Program, Orange County’s solution to runoff
pollution. H2OC is a cooperative stormwater program
which includes the County of Orange, Orange County Flood
Control District (OCFCD), and all 34 cities in Orange County.
In the summer months, when many residents go swimming,
clean beaches, healthy creeks, rivers, bays, and the ocean are
important to Orange County and our City. H2OC provides
resources to residents and businesses to prevent water
pollution and encourages personal action by working with
members of each watershed community to prevent polluted
runoff from entering our waterways. Check out H2OC.org to
learn more about the program, and what you can do to help.
You Are Not Alone
(YANA) Program
The YANA program is a free service offered to Laguna
Niguel residents who primarily live alone, providing them
a sense of security and ease of mind. Police Services
senior volunteers will check on the welfare of residents
either in person or by phone typically twice a week. If
the resident does not answer the door or phone call,
an emergency contact person will be notified to check
on the resident’s welfare. A deputy sheriff may also be
called upon for assistance during these instances. The
YANA program does not take the participant to the
doctor’s office, run errands or administer medications.
For additional information, contact Police Services at
(949) 362-4346.
