Well hello again ...
Welcome to City Cottage ! Or should I say , welcome back to City Cottage . Many of you will know of our health problems over the past couple of months , but we are back with a vengeance now , bringing you all the gardening and self sufficiency news and stories we love to write .
One of the great discoveries we have made for ourselves this last few weeks is the absolute love Henry IV of France had for his peasants . He made his goal in life to set each peasant family in France enough wealth to provide them with ample food , and undertook great agricultural reforms to achieve this .
Our mark of respect is to include this month his recipe for Poule au pot , and discuss what a better way boiling a chicken than roasting it is to make a meal go a long way .
We also have a look at neonicotinoid insecticides and ask the question : why hasn ’ t this sparked a wider debate about organic farming ?
We pop into the garden with a newlook monthly jobs page and introduce a new series on knitting and of course , all the old favourites are there including Darren ’ s Screw It ! column .
