Inequality
Ruiz Rivas, Alicia
Health inequality
Inequality in health goes together with poverty because if you
don't have money you can´t get food and then you have more chances of falling ill.
Besides private hospitals have more resources than state- run ones. People in poor countries have more chances of dying when they are ill. In Africa six mothers out of ten die at childbirth whereas in Sweden less than 1% do.
Inequality in education
Inequality in education refers to the fact that people have different opportunities if they go to school or they don´t.
Facts:
• Over one billion adults in the world can´t read or write.
• Most of them are women.
• Children from poorer homes drop out from school sooner than those who have a better social position.
• Schools in poor areas don´t have enough resources or teachers.
