Dear Mum,

Hi, I still have no answer; I hope it is a problem on the mail delivering service. I am scared about you, so after writing this letter I am going home immediately to look for you, we are not safe here, this war is getting worse.

I still haven't told you what really happened. I can't keep this inside of me. I need to tell you. You know that I got listed on the IRA, so one day at twilight I was stationed as a sniper on the roof when on the opposite building across the street I saw an enemy sniper. Thus, I started shooting at him and then I managed to knock him down. It was impossible not to look who he was. This is the way John died.
