equipped with convenient amenities such as education, transportation, green
space, culture and medical service and self-sufficient industry centred on
major companies along with commerce, entertainment and business.

Gyeonggi Province has established sisterhood relationship with 15 regions
in 10 nations including the US and set up friendly cooperation relationship
with 16 regions in 12 nations. Programmes and projects that Gyeonggi has
implemented in or with such regions can be categorised into three types.
First, the province has carried out ODA project in regions such as Nghe
An Province in Vietnam and Kampot Province in Cambodia.
Second, our province has established three-parties friendship and
cooperation conference with Kanagawa Prefacture in Japan and
Liaoning Province in China.

Third, Gyeonggi Province concluded an agreement regarding exchange
officials with six sisterhood regions, namely, the Commonwealth of
Virginia in US, the State of Queensland in Australia, the Province of British
Columbia in Canada, Liaoning Province and Shandong Province in China,
and Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan.
The Gyeonggi Pronvicial budget was 29,867,100,000,000 won
(US$27.7 billion) in 2013 allocated as follows:
Mobility and housing: 4,396,000,000 won (US$4.1 million)
Energy supply (science technology): 36,500,000,000 won
(US$33.9 million)
Water and Sanitation: 550,000,000,000 won (US$510.3 million)
Waste management: 1,840,400,000 won (US$1.7 million)
Security: 400,700,000,000 won (US$371.7 million)

The construction of a ‘Multifunctional Administrative City’ in Sejong.
Main purpose: Construction of a hybrid city with administrative functions.
Legislation: Special Act for Multifunctional Administrative City.
Area: 72.91km²
Construction costs: 22,500,000,000,000 wons (US$20.8 billion).
The central government will construct the city and Sejong will share the role
of Office for Government Policy Coordination and Safety Administration.
