POD FRAMEWORK
CIRO Connect has been created in direct alignment with the institution’ s Professional Operators Development( POD) framework. Each interactive teaching day focusses on a section of the Framework.
What is POD? This is the professional map for railway operators, which captures what successful and effective operators know and deliver across every aspect and specialism of the profession.
How can POD be used? My POD is a selfassessment tool that allows individuals to assess their skills and knowledge against the
POD Framework. It is designed to help them to identify knowledge gaps and target their future learning on a uniquely individual basis.
It forms a key part of the institution’ s membership upgrade system. The professional development of those undertaking the CIRO Connect course is recognised through CIRO membership.
Upgraded membership with CIRO Connect: Graduates of the course are offered a reduced upgrade application process to the Associate level of membership, which is a recognised and respected achievement in rail.
