Besides the peoplewatching and sounds of traffic interlaced with strumming from a guitar, I am enticed by the scent of wood fired brick-oven pizza. Last year this earthen oven was constructed and donated by volunteers from local resources and plays the main attraction in the community’s Friday night festivities. Trekking inside the WTCS you can find busy volunteers tossing pies and dressing them with marinara sauce and cheese, for a suggested $10 donation you can buy a pizza and take it outside to the oven. They go on sale starting at 5:30 and do sell out! Next to the oven you will find a spread of goods from the market to customize your 14” pizza to perfection. I chose basil, sausage, spinach, and garlic. I hear a week before they had an impressive batch of

chanterelle mushrooms, they serve whatever is fresh and in abundance. About ten minutes after placing my work of art on a rack, with all the good smells it seemed like the longest ten minutes of my life, a perfect specimen emerged. My work hubby and I enjoyed ours in the shade on the wrap around porch with some beer we had brought in my paisley lunchbox everyone confuses with a purse. After all, the Market is BYOB. I recommend bringing some of your own brews, a pizza is easily sharable, good for time with friends and family. For a date night suggestion bring your own blanket, and stay for the show. Live music is played every week from 7:30 to 9 with great headliners, Like em on Facebook to see more.
