Our guests for our premiere was none other than Jatoba. Line by Line, the new in-depth interview series, dives into the song writing of VT and NH?musicians. The show is centered around the lyrics and process that bands take to create what we hear in the shows every weekend. “We have wanted to expand to do TV style interviews for a long time,” said Managing Editor Brian Joy. “When we made the move to digital, the opportunity finally became available. Big ups to Jacob at Fact 8 for being the catalyst to making it happen.” FACT 8, the local Bellows Falls Community Television station had been trying to get Cider to commit to an ongoing series for over two years. “It’s funny as we decided to move the headquarters to Keene, we then found ourselves wondering how can we still be an active part of our hometown of B.F. This gave us the perfect scenario,” said Joy. Line by Line has some very exciting episodes planned, most importantly the August edition of the show that will feature Bow Thayer, Joey Leone, Rick Redington and Tony Lee Thomas as they prepare for their August 30th Song Writer’s Showcase at Tupelo Music Hall in White River Junction. “The guys from Jatoba have been a part of our family since day one,” said Chris Nostrand, Co-Publisher and National Marketing Coordinator. “It was a given that they would be first. Jatoba and Cider go hand in hand.” Line by Line is available in a variety of ways. Viewers can see it air on the FACT 8 channel itself, on FACT8’s website, and also on cidermag.com and Cider Mag TV’s youtube station. “We are really trying to give these bands and musicians as much exposure as possible. These are the kind of avenues that allow us to reach an audience maybe we haven’t been able to hit before. Cider isn’t just about a magazine, it’s about the hard working artists that really deserve a spotlight.” The first episode of Line by Line is featuring Jatoba is now available for viewing and Cider hopes that the new concept, and fresh idea for Community Television will have people tuning in every month. “We’re going to keep trying to do things that others aren’t doing. It’s not about a cut and dry article about the music. It’s hearing the stories from the artists themselves,” said Joy. “It’s inspiring to be able to sit down with people like this and hear their reasons why. It’s a privledge that they are willing to spend some time with us and tell the fans about personal tales.” Line by Line features story telling and performances by the artists themselves in a 100% organic environment
