T
he slots are a toss-up, but
the food at newly-opened
Loft 180 at the McPhillips
Station Casino is a sure bet.
Shareable plates (pictured
below) are thoughtfully
prepared and generously
sized. Internationally-inspired
dishes include tender chicken
wings sticky with tangy chili-
lime-cilantro glaze. Large flat
screen TVs pump out a mix of
contemporary and classic music
videos and live performances
occur every Thursday-Saturday
in the modern loft-style space.
Cocktails and local craft
beers are also available at the
chic extended bar area. 484

I it's all good
K
hao House shut its’
Sherbrook St. doors on New
Year’s Eve, but don’t dismay:
the beloved Laotian eatery
has moved to its new location
inside the Good Will Social
Club. The same modest menu
that owners Randy Khounnoraj
and Korene McCraig have
honed over the past couple
years – with favourites like
Pork Kalapao and Khao Soi - is
available from 11 am-9:30 pm
Monday-Friday and from 3
pm-9:30 pm on Saturday. 625

orth End residents have a
bit more pep in their step
thanks to Modern Coffee,
(pictured) a hip new café at
the corner of Inkster Blvd.
and Main St. The coffee flows
from Black Pearl and De Luca’s
while baked goods are sourced
from Gunn’s bakery and Tall
Grass Prairie bakery. Here,
the crowd is eclectic like the
furniture, and owner Allison
Slessor greets every customer.
Creativity is encouraged; a
guitar and craft table await.
