Beware of Store Cards
Think twice before using a store card. Many charge excessive rates of interest of 30% or more, which is much more expensive than a regular credit card.
This said, you can sometimes use them to your advantage. Many stores offer a discount of 10 or 20 per cent on a first purchase with their card, so this could save you a good amount of money if you are spending quite a lot in one store. You can use it for your Christmas purchases then cut it up, but make sure you clear the bill at the end of the month before the interest gets added.
