He spoke about it in several other occasions such as Mark 8:31-33 and Matthew 20:17-19, but they never really understood what he meant. When Jesus was killed by the Romans under Pontius Pilate’s orders, they made sure he was died by piercing his abdomen with a spear. When Jesus was buried in Joseph’s tomb, even though he had told them he would rise again, nobody expected him to come back to life. They had lost hope after his death. What happened next,] marked a historic part in Christian faith.

Jesus was put in the “garden tomb” which was his disciple Joseph’s tomb. Three days later, which is now known as Easter today, Jesus was resurrected. This was a

surprise to everybody. At first, they didn’t

understand what had happened to his body.

They completely ruled out the idea that he

got up and walked out himself.or Jesus was

wrapped up in cloth, in a heavy stone coffin,

with a huge boulder covering the entrance,

and guards outside the tomb. Yet the

garments in which he was buried with remained in his coffin, and the boulder moved out of the way. The first to see Jesus after his disappearance and resurrection was

Mary Magdalene, his disciple.

“Now when Jesus was risen early

the first day of the week, he

appeared first to Mary Magdalene,

out of whom he had cast seven

devils.” (Mark 16:9-11)

When Mary saw him, she went to go

tell his other weeping followers. Although when she told them, they didn’t believe her. Until they saw for themselves.
