? Wasn’t the whole reason behind Christ’s walk on earth to prove just how far one kind and loving heart will go to not only save the world but change it for the better, forever. (John 3:16)

The Bible says, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” (Proverbs 16:24) Our King knows we all enjoy a genuine hello, a friendly smile and a heart full of honest-to-goodness compliments. He knows our souls jump for joy when words of respect and gentleness are spoken towards and about us. He knows we all feel a sense of worth and specialness when someone takes the time to write us a card, give us a word of praise, and acknowledge our hard work or envelope us in a warm hug. Why? Well, God is the Creator of “kindness”. He himself is kind and ‘It is his kindness that leads us all to repentance’. (Romans 2:4) As children of the One True King we all have a mission in keeping His legacy of compassion and love alive while in the world. ‘Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12) I believe we can lead more people to Him by our tender hearts than starting up thousands of churches across the globe.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12

Therefore, it seems we are aware of how beautiful a bride’s wedding day can look with a little sprinkle of confetti in the picture, shouldn’t we try the same approach but with the use of kindness instead? Surely our Jesus-like hearts have the power to make someone’s day more beautiful than the one beforehand? Feeding the poor, hugging the lonely, laying hands on the sick and hurting, stooping down to drop a few pennies into a busker’s empty guitar case or encouraging a student on their positive school report are all small gestures that heavily reflect the true heart of Christ our King. Unlike confetti, kindness should exist on every single page of our storybook lives rather than be reserved for just the calendar marked occasions.

Let’s continue 'Doing justice, loving kindness and walking humbly with God' (Micah 6.8) in the very hope our lives will mirror more of His goodness and presence. Let’s look for ways to spread our share of kindness into every direction possible, making the world around us a little more colorful. The more we adjust our hearts to mimic the fruits of the spirit the more people will see the face of Jesus shining brightly amongst us. ‘Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart’. [Proverbs 3:3]
