NADIA G
VP Creative at B360 Media / Bitchin’ Kitchen.
(Co-creator, co-producer, writer, host and
brand manager.)
I’m from Montreal, where we dream big (but legally dreams
must be at least twice as big in French) - says Nadia G,
who’s infectious and very “rock n’ roll” personality lights up
the kitchen of Food Network’s prime-time show, “Bitchin’
Kitchen”. Nadia has always loved writing and performing.
Before becoming who she is now, Nadia had to play producer
for her own show. Producing sketch comedy in 2001, and
jumping right in to the internet world (with the help of her
parent’s Hi8 video camera) has certainly been worth it. Getting a media grant from Telefilm Canada was a huge stepping
stone in Nadia’s road to success.
The second major milestone was selling the series to Food Network Canada – We’re the first show in history to successfully
transition from net to network.- says Nadia. Time has really
been Nadia’s ally. - At that moment the head of development
at Food Network was Leslie Merklinger, who hailed from
Comedy Network, perfection! by then, the third milestone was
tangible and the series was sold to the US market, where the
show has become Cooking Channel’s top show and outside
North America the number three show on Food Network
UK- says Nadia.
Success to Nadia G is certainly more than fame - For me success is constantly challenging yourself, and getting paid to grow
creatively. …Oh, and having a massive shoe closet - says Nadia.
“Bitchin’ Kitchen” is certainly a breath of fresh air, different
from today’s television programming and from any other
cooking show. The audience seems to love the show to due
to it’s funky touch, sassiness and spicy creative format. We are
convinced that “Bitchin” Kitchen” will continue to empower
and motivate women of all ages to have fun and jump into
the kitchen a bit more often; always encouraging the audience
to stay true to themselves and to make the most out of every
moment in life.
Women Who Inspire Nadia - Oprah, Martha Stewart, Madonna – I respect the empires these women have built despite
the odds.
Beauty Tip- Ladies, if you don’t know how to tweeze your
brows, let a professional do it for you. I don’t know how many
times I’ve been befuddled by strange, over-plucked, scraggly
brows that look like they’ve been drawn in by a kid who’s coming down from a sugar rush.
