PRIORITIZE COMFORT

Learning is very difficult when parents are uncomfortable. Ensure the space you use meets the needs of parents in your class.

• Comfortable seating with several options( if possible).

• Access to restrooms.

• Ability to eat or drink( if possible).

• Temperature control.

• Adequate space for movement / relaxation.

These items are important for labor practice, but you can have them in any class and encourage parents to use them during breaks or any time they want to try them:

• Exercise balls.

TEACHING TIPS

• Pillows.

• Light dimmer.

• Mats or blankets.

• Sound system.

• Unscented candles or battery-powered candles.
