Candies to Avoid at All Cost A guide to the worst treats
By Nolan Geraghty Chieftain Staff
What kind of candy you get trick-ortreating can make or break your Halloween. For most kids, the best part of Halloween is getting free candy, but there is nothing worse than getting candy you hate for Halloween.
Some candies to avoid on Halloween: Dots, Whoppers, Milk Duds.
Dots are too chewy and lack flavor. I’ m not exactly sure what is in a Whopper, but it doesn’ t taste good. Milk Duds aren’ t terrible, but they get stuck in your mouth and just cause a mess.
But, whatever you do on Halloween, stay away from Mounds and Almond Joys. Mounds are the sister candy of Almond Joy; they just don’ t have as bad a reputation.
The absolute worst candy is easily Almond Joy. I don’ t think I have ever

met a person under the age of 30 who actually finds joy in Almond Joys.
Another common“ treat” received by kids are chips. Seven out of 10 people have received chips while trick-or-treating, and zero out of 10 people enjoy them. No one wants to be eating chips on Halloween. Quite honestly, it’ s just embarrassing. The type of people who give out chips are grandparents who are cleaning out their pantry with the stuff their grandkids didn’ t eat.
In my personal experience trick-ortreating, I have received many terrible items, but the worst of all was Play-Doh. Yes, that’ s right, Play-Doh. If there were a way to ruin a kid’ s Halloween, it would be by giving out Play-Doh.
