One of the few metal festivals in the United States, this show’s lineup is amazing for any fan of hard rock and heavy metal. The top acts will be Rammstein (in their only U.S performance of 2016), Of Mice and Men, Disturbed, Korn, Breaking Benjamin, Bullet for My Valentine, Marilyn Manson, Five Finger Death Punch, and, my favorite band of all time, Slipknot. This festival is going to be full of great live performances and pyrotechnics (flames, fireworks, and bright, flashing lights). It is the inaugural year for this festival, and it should be a big one. -Jacob Oxyer Mo Pop Festival, July 23-24 West Riverfront Park (Detroit) The lineup for this festival contains some of the best up-and-coming artists in the nation. The most well-known is Bay Area-based rapper G-Eazy, who is touring after his new album “When It’s Dark Out,” featuring well-known singles “Me, Myself & I” and “Order More.” The festival also features Rochester native BØRNS and his song “Electric Love.” Relatively unknown artists -- Mac Demarco, who sings “Salad Days,” Shakey Graves (“Dearly Departed”), and Raury (“Devil’s Whisper”) -- will provide the audience with a new set of favorite artists. Other notables are HAIM (“My Song”), The Head and the Heart (“Lost In My Mind”) and Father John Misty (“Chateau Lobby #4”). -Ryan Israel Slipknot takes the stage at Chicago Open Air B ROTHE R R I C E H I G H S C HO O L C H I E F TA I N PAGE 2 “Finding Dory,” Opens June 17 A Theater Near You Scared of the sun, but still want to enjoy a summer activity? Well, look no further than Disney Pixar’s new movie “Finding Dory,” the sequel to the universally loved “Finding Nemo.” Ellen DeGeneres is back, voicing the hilarious character of Dory, a fan favorite from the first movie. The expectations for this movie are high due to the enormous success of “Finding Nemo,” and I expect it to match the quality of the original. It should be a hilarious movie that all ages will love. If this unpredictable Michigan weather gives us a rainy day (or you really are scared of the sun), I would recommend going to check out “Finding Dory.” -Jack Fitzpatrick S U M M E R 2016
