from the Obama Administration after the recovery of the Financial Crisis of 2008 . Overall , and especially in this past year , the Trump Presidency has been nothing but a failure .
On the other hand , we have Biden , the old man . Throughout his entire political career , Biden has flipped on his own policies and , in the modern day , he seems clueless . Many Biden supporters are not voting for him based on his merit or his superior policies , but because they hate Trump .
Working alongside former President Barack Obama , Biden was able to bring the US economy out of one of the worst crises in modern history . Though Biden is being supported for being
“ morally superior ” to his counterpart , he has an extremely shaky history when it comes to race relations , a big talking point of this election . Biden ’ s track record shows he supported racist policies to make America ’ s crime system more punitive , pushed the 1993 crime bill ( hurting people of color ), and was a leading crusader of mass incarceration in the 80 ’ s and 90 ’ s .
Alongside Biden ’ s questionably racist past , he also seems to lack awareness of social boundaries , making many uncomfortable . One of the most concerning issues for Biden , and the biggest talking point that Trump supporters use , is the fact that he has a lot of trouble completing sentences and making speeches . On many occasions , Biden is seen stuttering through sentences and struggling to find words . Many allude to the fact that Biden may be
suffering with dementia ; he has yet to reveal medical records . However , Biden has performed well in the debates .
As you may have observed , I have said almost nothing positive about either candidate . Both candidates are terrible options for this country and we , as Americans , are going to be put in a position to choose the lesser of the two evils in November . I would not be surprised if either man wins due to how much uncertainty there is surrounding this election and how unappealing each candidate is .
In the end , even after acknowledging a history of wrongdoings , I feel that Biden is a better choice to lead this country because he is not as polarizing as Trump . For both , the cons outweigh pros , but Biden is an actual
Tom Richmond politician who is capable of pulling this country out
of the mess it is in right now .
