safety and wide receiver and returns punts . “ I believe this is because of our effort and team culture .”
Tennis
A dominating performance in Regionals gave the tennis team a 9-spot going into States in mid-October . Unfortunately , they lost in States to Ann Arbor Huron , ending a solid season .
The team has a very bright future , though , with Freshman Devin Gans and Sophomores Dimitri Moriarty , Tom Cosgrove , Tommy Rook , Brendan Frick , and Christian McNulty .
They said that they will put in work this summer and do anything they can to get better .

The two teams who stood out were St . Leo , led by quarterback Hunter Polonkey , and St . Sebastian , led by Antonio Zeer , who put on a surprisingly strong performance for a kid who hasn ’ t played organized football since 2nd grade flag football . Zeer threw for an astonishing nine touchdowns , while Polonkey threw for seven . In the end , Sebastian came out on top , beating Leo in the championship , 4-1 .

Junior / Senior Football
St . Leo , the returning Band champions , lost their first two games , which eliminated them from the contest . Then a shocking new contender emerged in St . Brendan . St . Sebastian gave Brendan a run for their money , taking the contest to three overtimes . Although great defense came from both sides , offense proved to be the dominant factor , as Senior Sean Timmis led Brendan to a win in the event .

Disc Golf
One of the new events this year , Disc Golf found little foot traffic on Field Day . Just three teams headed out in a 9-hole doubles match . By the end of the third hole , St . Brendan had a steady lead . On hole 4 , St .
Spikeball was one of the new Field Day events this year
Leo dropped a triple-bogey , which widened the gap from second to third by 3 strokes . At hole 8 , Brendan took the hole with a par to extend the lead on St . Max Kolbe . By the end of the match , Brendan , led by Nick Moisides , took the title with a four-stroke lead over Kolbe and a 14-stroke lead over Leo .

Henry Allan are both two-year Varsity players , and newcomers Josh Copeland , Evan Thornton and Enzo Bordogna are Sophomore transfers . This talent will take the team on a run in the next couple of years .
Cross Country
The Cross Country team had a great Catholic League season .
“ It ’ s been a pretty good year ,” said Assistant Coach Higdon . “ Though down in numbers , we finished the season undefeated in dual meets and went 4-0 in the Catholic League for the first time since the 2016 season .” While the team did not qualify for the State Finals , Seniors Joe Shaya , Joe Kawka and Henry Moran and Junior Parker Young are still alive as individuals .
Handball Handball did nothing but excite this year . The highlight play was by Senior Brett Harris , who had to show off his clutch gene in a shootout that propelled his band , St . Raphael , to the championship game . The semifinal against Padre Pio was decided in a sudden-death shootout , where Harris pulled out the cannon , despite the weight of Raphael on his shoulders , and scored on goalie Ryan Marderosian . But this was overshadowed in the end by St . Brendan , led by Senior Parker Piwinski , who blew out Raphael .

Dodgeball
In the Senior division , St . Sebastian dominated , going 4-0 , led by Patrick O ’ Leary . In the Junior division , things looked bright for St . Sebastian , which led the bracket going into the championship , at 3-0 . However , underdog St . Brendan used the surprising power of a team of two , Juniors Chad Tellis and George Donnini , to take home the win .
