Commodore Tony Mobbs Well what a great summer. As I am writing this month’s magazine contribution, there is a strong wind blowing and rain lashing against the windows. It didn’t seem that long ago that we were complaining that the weather was too hot!! As our sailing season draws to a close, we can look back at an active summer programme of cruising, both long distance to the West Country and the Continent and short-day cruising in the harbour, together with an active dinghy racing programme. Member Survey The survey is now closed. We have had a really good response, so thank you to all of you who participated. A summary of the key findings will be published in next month’s magazine. Our annual Laying Up Supper will be held at the end of October. So, it will be great opportunity to catch up with friends and reminisce about the summer. But don’t think you can now take life easier in the winter months. We are now starting our active winter programme of activities. These include: ► ► ► ► ► ► Club Rambles Winter Lectures Quiz Nights Pilates Art Classes And of course, our famous Dinghy Frozen Toe and Snowflake Racing Series Club Annual General Meeting The Club’s AGM this year will be held on Sunday 28th October at 1500 at the Club. This is good opportunity to hear how the Club is doing, to find out what our programme of activities will be for 2019 and also to have your say in helping to shape the future of the Club. Happy sailing Hope to see you at the Club soon Our sections’ Friday night socials will continue, together with our Club Social programme. Check the Club Programme and Website for more details. 2
