Fishbourne Channel and Salterns Way Ramble —
15th December 2018 - by David Roberts
Thirty-one intrepid walkers [and one
hound] set off from the Club on
Saturday 15th December on a cold,
windy and rainy day.
We walked up the side of the
Fishbourne creek with occasional
breaks in the rain and made it to
Fishbourne where we huddled under
our car port for our coffee break and
a few used the loo before returning
along the Salterns Way bridle path.
We all agreed that the walk had
successfully brought us out of the
house and into the outdoors on a day
when we would probably have stuck
inside, and despite the weather most
felt better for it.
After hanging our wet clothes in the
club changing rooms, we had pre-
ordered lunch in the quarter deck
which was served promptly for us, on
tables laid out with Christmas crackers,
and I for one had a mulled wine with
the meal.
