Fun Racing
Following a very successful season in 2019, we are looking forward to a fun filled
programme of weekend fun races (or cruises with a competitive edge) in the
Solent and across the Channel. This year we are expecting to enter two teams
in the “Round the Island” Race.
To book on any of the cruises or races, sign on to the website and
add your name to the list – don’t delay as these events are filling up
fast.
Training
We enjoyed another group discussion in January on the subject of
Night Sailing led by John Lake. There will be two more of these
informal get-togethers to share information, but please note there
has been a change in the topics covered in the next two months:
28 February
Anchoring/Mooring safely
27 March
Cruiser Racing
Hosting
It must be quite daunting for new members coming to the Club on a
second Friday evening for our Sailors Supper who don’t know any-
one, and seeing everyone else engrossed in conversation. To help
our new members feel more comfortable we are launching a hosting
arrangement, whereby some of our members will act as Hosts and
be happy to help with introductions, identified with a host badge.
March 1, 10.30 in the Upper Deck. Coffee from 10.00.
Come and hear what the Yacht Section Committee have planned for
the coming season and bring your ideas for the future, to discuss with
them.
On the agenda will be:
•
Overview of cruising in company programme 2020
•
Harbour Day Cruises
•
Cruiser Races
•
Buddying
•
Changes to website cruise booking system
•
Crew Exchange WhatsApp
•
Photo Competition
•
General Discussion.
