Cruising
I was really pleased to see the first successful MS cruise of the
year take place on 1st January. Pleased for several reasons: it
was the first cruise and on the first day of the year; it was a pop
-up cruise (what a great idea they are for spontaneous boating
activity); it was attended by both MS and YS members; it was
thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended (alas we couldn't make
it as Caroline was struck down by a severe dose of lady-flu);
and last but definitely not least members rallied round to help
bring a disabled boat home when her shaft coupling gave
way. What a great club; I feel privileged to be a member!
2020 cruise programme - First Friday 7th February
The next First Friday, 7th February, is the Annual RC's sup-
per. It is a ticketed event - menus and more details available
from Natasha Edmunds, Social Secretary, very soon. Please
buy your tickets from the office, as usual. The principal event of
the evening will be Phil Ladds, our Cruise Secretary, presenting
the 2020 programme. So please make a note in your diary and
don't miss the first First Friday of the year!
MS RC’s drink of the month - February
So December's proved a little difficult, despite the clue: "…time's
running out so make it snappy". The answer was that a crocodile
was present among the more relevant animals gathered around
the crib in the photo of the nativity scene. Of course!!
Congratulations go to Simon Benson for spotting it!
There was no First Friday in January so we'll make February's very
easy for you. It’s open to all members of the Club. Just spot the
out of place or odd item on the MS noticeboard, be the first to
tell me and I’ll buy you a drink. Easy as that…
2020 MS calendars
If you haven't already done so, please collect
your 2020 calendar from the office. If you
are not able to attend the office when it's
open just let me know and I'll get yours and
distribute at the next First Friday.
