Chichester Yacht Club Magazine April 2020 | Page 11
Anita got together with Mark Green, our website administrator, and they identified several improvements to be
implemented, with the priority given to:
Home page:
Make the log-in button more prominent, add a link to register, fix the drop-down problems on an Ipad, Re-write/
design homepage subheading so that it doesn’t look like a series of links, simplify the homepage structure and the
home page promotions.
Yachts, Motors and Dinghies section pages:
To increase the visibility of section menus, ensure section menus contain all key links, redesign section pages to give
context and support key tasks.
Gallery Section pages:
To add an introduction to Yachts and Motors gallery pages.
Other pages
To ensure all content is up to date, change Open Race Results navigation link and page heading to Open Race Book-
ing & Results , include a prominent link to the membership form on all membership pages, include full opening times
on the restaurant page, add cross-links between membership areas within the text area, add cross links between
Yacht Cruise Booking and Yacht Cruise write-ups on the Yachts Home Page, add an explicit reference to beginners
on the Dinghy Training Page.
A lot of these improvements have now been implemented and others will follow in the coming weeks.
What’s next:
A redesign of the hospitality pages will follow, and a “re-skinning” of the website will be scheduled in a future year.
