Chicago is located near lakes. This is an advantage because the government can build artificial islands to build on top of them. Also they are a source of food and water from them. This can help because people will have more space to move around.
The fact that Chicago will continue growing is a depressing thing because the city will occupy its surroundings and destroy a lot of nature. It will also take the space where animals live and this will affect the ecosystem.
In conclusion the city can grow until some point. The point where there is still space for animals and plants. Maybe I am wrong and this text is just a waste of time but I think it is good to look for consequences. No one knows, because the future will come and we will see it when it is already here.
