STORY BY MICHELLE DILLON Cherokee County Living
You may or may not know the name Lacey Price, but if you spend much time in downtown Jacksonville you’ ve almost certainly seen her work. She has decorated many storefront windows with her artwork.
Price said her first paid painting job was in Jacksonville at a window-tint store when she was just 16-years-old.
“ Somebody suggested me [ to them ],” she said.“ I was young. I didn’ t expect to start making money doing it.”
Yet, the artistic skills of this Jacksonville native have earned her an income ever since. Price said she comes from an artistic family.“ My mom, she is like me. She can draw, she can paint. She does that with her cakes too,” she said.“ My dad, he doesn’ t use his [ ability ] as a job, but he can draw. My brother, he’ s really good. He can do realistic drawings.”
Price’ s mother is D’ Anne McCune, owner of the Designs by D’ Anne.
When it comes to her window painting, Price said she couldn’ t name a particular favorite but admitted she enjoyed working for pet places.
“ I got to do cats and dogs and cute stuff like that,”
