BSc Chemistry
Combined
Honours
The Combined Honours courses are an
exciting way to study operating within
the traditional Keele Combined Honours
framework. A wide range of subject
combinations are available and the Combined
Honours route allows you broader career
options at the end of your degree.
Many exciting areas of research science happens at the
interface of disciplines - chemical biology, environmental
analysis, astrochemistry, geochemistry, instrument design and
development, all need a broad knowledge across scientific
disciplines and so a Combined Honours degree can have real
advantages if your goal is to work in a cross-disciplinary area.
You will study two subjects in Years 1 and 2 and have the
option to study two subjects equally throughout the three years
of your Combined Honours degree. You are also allowed to
specialise in chemistry or your other subject in Year 3 of the
three year course. If you specialise in chemistry you have
the option to pick an elective module in Year 3 from your
combination subject.
Combinations include:
• Astrophysics and Chemistry
• Biology and Chemistry
• Chemistry and Forensic Science
• Chemistry and Human Biology
• Chemistry and Physics
• Biochemistry and Chemistry
• Chemistry and Environmental Science
• Chemistry and Geology
• Chemistry and Mathematics
For more details of the modules please see information on
page 10-11.
