Social Schism

If a service like Spotify became available to students that allowed free streaming of music, the ability to purchase songs / “Deluxe physical albums,” at a heavily discounted price, would you sign up to it for a fee of £4 a month?

Aaron- Yeah sounds like it could be a good idea, but it probably wouldn't stay at that price because any giant in music labels or music file share sites always look after their own.

How much would you pay for Albums / Singles with a discounted price?
(This is after the £4 a month has been paid and you have access to this service, this would still be the best deal for students in gaining music legally)

Aaron- probably around £6 or £7

If artists / Bands released there albums online for the public to pay what they wanted, do you think this would be a good idea?

Aaron- No it wouldn't because people would just pay 1p for the album, when we released our album we all put our money into making it, so we should be allowed to put how much it would cost as its suppose to give us money back for another release or merch.

Do you think if artists released their music for free and gave the public the choice of how much I they wanted to pay for it, it would encourage the public to go and see the Artist / Band live?
