Some day things will go back to normal

Another summer month is behind us and we are finding ourselves slipping rapidly into fall , my favorite time of year . Solo Sisters , Charbonneau ’ s single women ’ s group , has managed to keep busy again this summer . As a group we have continued to enjoy our Happy Hour gatherings at local restaurants . This summer we made merry at Stanford ’ s , the Wild Hare in Canby and on the patio at Manzana overlooking Lake Oswego . We usually manage to average 15-20 people at these Happy Hour gatherings and they are always a lot of fun !
Aside from our monthly Happy Hours , this summer we enjoyed another fun filled night of games in the Card Room at CCC . Game Night is our favorite and most popular group event . It always starts with a potluck supper and of course is BYOB . Then we break off into groups to enjoy games like blackjack , led by Robyn Andrus and Karen Giardino , or Chicken Foot led by Deanna Morgan members feel comfortable playing . The following are some of the precautions we have taken :
Installed touchless disinfectant dispensers throughout the club
Left the doors to the outside open so members don ’ t have to touch anything as they enter and exit the club
Keep the fans in the indoor playing area on 7X24 to keep the air circulating
Closed the upstairs area and removed the furniture from the club entrance to allow physical distancing
Allow only one person at a time in the restroom areas
Discontinued activities that make it difficult to adhere to the rules of physical distancing and touching such as : USTA team play , men ’ s day , mixed doubles mixer , ball machine
We have started to recruit for a new pro to replace coach Reed who has moved to California . We hope to have a lesson and clinic program soon .
or a revolving third game led by me , Candy Ferguson .
We didn ’ t just meet at night over glasses of wine . Solo Sisters also enjoyed some daytime activities . Once again , Lissa Willis lead groups of eight to lunch in Portland on her lunchtime safaris . This summer , several of us enjoyed seeing new neighborhoods and dining in diverse restaurants , including Bullards and Besaws . And yes , there was wine ! Next week we hope to return to Wilsonville Bowl for another rousing bowling outing .
Our final fun event this summer was a Wine Tasting Party held on the Garden Terrace at CCC . We had a great time tasting three red and three white wines , but were a bit chagrined when we learned , in the blind tasting , how popular Two Buck Chuck was — in BOTH categories . Actually this speaks well of our group , we know how to have fun AND keep the costs down !!
Well , that is how Solo Sisters got through the summer of 2019 . But wait a minute , this is 2020 and we are living through the COVID 19 pandemic and Solo Sisters , as a group , did NOTHING !!! The Garden Terrace is now the Pavilion and we can only gather in groups of 10 . Well , some day , life will return to normal . At least we have fond memories of each other ... until we meet again .

Balanced Market : What does this mean ?
Real estate continues to be known as the “ bright spot ” in the current economy , but lack of inventory is holding us back from achieving full potential .
While homes are coming to the market , they aren ’ t coming fast enough ! Right now , across the country there is less than 6 months of overall inventory of homes for sale , putting us in a seller ’ s market . The challenge is that there are not enough homes for sale to increase the supply needed for the number of people who want to buy , especially in the starter and middle-level markets .
To be in a balanced market ( meaning we have enough inventory for the number of buyers in the market ), we need to have 6 months of inventory available . Today we are nowhere near that number , and as a matter of fact we have been in a seller ’ s market for several years . Currently the Portland Metro market is 1.3 months .
Wilsonville and Charbonneau are no exception .
Mortgage interest rates have hit a record low . This has ignited a robust purchase demand , while lack of inventory is exhibiting a constraint on sales activity .
Only new inventory will help ease the demand .
Looking for an experienced broker , I ’ m right here in our neighborhood and would love to help .
