Charbonneau Arts Association By CATHI MCLAIN
Artists are invited to submit work for festival As I often do when I ’ m looking for inspiration for my monthly articles , I logged onto the Charbonneau
MCLAIN Country Club website to peruse past Villagers . Browsing through the pages from 2018 and 2019 , I was struck by the ways in which the COVID-19 virus has changed our lives here at Charbonneau .
Except for a very active golf course , which was one of the few

pursuits still safe to pursue last year , the large group activities that were frequently featured , like the Boys & Girls Aid Crab and Rib Dinner , Men ’ s Invitational , Pink Ball Tournament , the Niners Dance Show and the Charbonneau Festival of the Arts , have been missing throughout 2020 and so far in 2021 . Our 37th Annual Festival of the Arts was mentioned only as a virtual exhibition in 2020 . As we slowly return to some of our normal activities , I am pleased to confirm that the 2021 Art with Flair , Charbonneau Festival of the Arts will return to the Charbonneau Country Club Nov . 5 , 6 , and 7 , along with a virtual component to allow our artists to display to a wider audience and for a longer time period . We will configure things a little differently , but the Opening Gala , Artists Gallery , Artisans Show and Silent Auction will be back and better than ever ! This time next year , I expect to be looking back at the December 2021 Villager , filled with photos of the 2021 Art with Flair at the country club . |
Festival call to artists and sponsorships
Although the festival doesn ’ t take place until November , things are already moving forward to help make it happen . The first of these is the call to artists , inviting artists to submit their work for jurying and inclusion in the show . That call went out to our large database in late June . If you are an artist who missed that invitation , you ’ ll find it on the CAA website at charbonneauarts . org . You ’ ll also find a place to sign up to donate to the Silent Auction or to become a sponsor of the event . Donations and sponsorships go a long way to helping us to provide maximum dollars to both Wilsonville and Canby High Schools to bolster their art programs .
Sponsors to date include Nancy and William Hall , Cathi and John McLain , Lynda Huber , Equity Oregon Real Estate , Canby and Wilsonville , Rick Cady Photography , Roof Masters , Wilsonville Honda , Town Center Dental Care , Canby Ford and Wilsonville Dental Group .

If you have a favorite local business you think we should contact , please contact our past president and sponsorship chair , Eric Hoem at erichoem @ comcast . net . Personal donations are also welcome .
The Friends of Charbonneau Arts is now a reality and ready to welcome your membership . Membership levels are $ 25 for an individual and $ 45 for a family , paid annually . The membership is tax deductible , as provided by law and helps to bolster our mission to support art education in the Canby and Wilsonville High Schools , and to support art in the community . You ’ ll find the membership details and registration form on our website at charbonneauarts . org / friends . I ’ m excited to introduce this next phase of our CAA journey and hope to welcome many Charbonneau residents to the Friends of Charbonneau Arts .
