fore to all the players that selected “ playing ” on their invitation .
For the Charbonneau Men ’ s Club , the games that are played are determined by our Tournament Committee chaired by Laurin Larsen . The software can accommodate most games that our members have played in the past , though nomenclature may be different . The software has an advanced feature that enables counting a different number of balls on any specified hole , ( one ball on the first hole , two balls on the second , three balls on the third , four balls on the fourth , and continue the rotation through the 18th-hole contest ).
An example is “ Orange Ball ” where the orange ball rotates between the four players on a team and counts as the team score plus one other best ball for the
foursome . Golf Genius actually calls the game the “ Lone Ranger .”
We often play a “ Scramble ” where everyone drives the ball and all four players play from the best position after each shot through the hole providing one score for the foursome for each hole .
A “ Shamble ” is where everyone drives the ball and each member of the team plays his own ball from the position of the best drive . We often count the two best balls of the foursome for this format .
Occasionally on a Wednesday Men ’ s Club individual play game , the game will throw out the two worst holes and call the game “ Sweet 16 ” for your best 16 holes .
Most often , other than Scrambles and Shambles , we try and ensure that our members will be able to post a score when they play in a Men ’ s Club contest .
We hope to use more of the features of the Golf Genius during our 2021 season .
Rule of the Month — Elimination of penalties
The 2019 Rules of Golf eliminated many “ penalties .” Here is a brief description of some of the penalty rules that changed and are now in effect :
No penalty for an accidental double hit .
During a ball search , there is no penalty if the ball is moved by the player or any helper searching for the ball . Ball is replaced to original position .
The is no penalty when a ball or ball marker is accidentally moved on the putting green . Just replace to original position .
If a ball in motion is accidentally deflected by you or your equipment , there is no penalty , and the ball will be played from where it came to rest .
On the putting green , a ball which strikes an inanimate natural object , such as a leaf , is no longer canceled and replayed . The ball will be played as it lies .

Volunteers needed to develop Charbonneau Security Master Plan
“ Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation ’ s compassion , unselfish caring , patience , and just plain loving one another .” — Erma Bombeck
Hello Charbonneau residents , Please contact the country club office to volunteer some of your time and expertise to help develop a master plan for the Charbonneau Country Club facilities . Patrick Donaldson and Rick Schram have been performing some initial research , but desire additional help from the community . I ’ m sure there are residents who have applicable experience and knowledge that would be helpful . Please volunteer some of your time and talent to help Patrick and Rick to further evaluate existing policies and physical security systems . The goal is to create a comprehensive five-year master plan that guides the CCC Board and management to purchase new or replacement systems that result in a safe community and protect CCC physical , financial and digital assets .

Experts forecast an optimistic year for the housing market as mortgage rates will continue to be historically favorable .
Buyer demand is incredibly strong . That ’ s not the case , however , on the supply side . Available listings are simply not keeping up .
Buyers need to remain patient in the search process . At the same time , they must be ready to act immediately once they find the right home since bidding wars are more common when few houses are available for sale .
Sellers may not want to wait until spring to put their houses on a market . With such high buyer demand and such a low supply , now is the perfect time to sell a house with optimal terms .
Navigating any housing market takes patience , research , and a good real estate agent . Let ’ s connect to day so you ’ re ready to make your next move .
