We warmly welcome our new players !

“ Mother is a verb . It ’ s something you do . Not just who you are .”
— Cheryl Lacey Donovan
Interesting perspective and oh , so true ! As we begin our second month of CWGA play , we all might find ourselves “ mothering .” Maybe it ’ s in welcoming our new players , maybe
BALES & BORST it ’ s in getting our routines and bodies ready for the season , or maybe it ’ s being an integral part of all of it ! You get it . ;)
Our “ family ” is growing ! CWGA is excited to welcome 16 new members : Rita Albrich , Marikate Book , Patti Book , Patti Garske , Kim Harp , Crystal Huffman , Mary Jane Hunt , Cindy Lindstrom , Christy Lynch , Carol McLeod , Carol Pollard , Carol Riley , Sue Schneider , Doni Wilder and Luo Fan Wu . Rule of the Month — from Joann Linville :
How do I take relief from a red penalty area ?
All penalty areas ( water ponds ) at Charbonneau are red penalty areas . Players may always play a ball from within any penalty area and may ground the club lightly behind the ball , move loose impediments , take a practice swing and touch the ground or water . If a player decides to take relief from a red penalty area , there is a onestroke penalty . For red penalty areas , players have three relief options . You may take relief by dropping into a relief area using ( 1 ) the spot at which your last stroke was made under stroke and distance ( see Rule 17.1d ( 1 )), ( 2 ) the back-on-the-line procedure ( see Rule 17.1d ( 2 ), or drop a ball into a relief area outside the penalty area within two club lengths no nearer the hole measured from where your ball last crossed the edge of the red penalty area ( see Rule 17.1d ( 3 )).
Happy May Day , Mother ’ s Day and Memorial Day ! Mmmmmmmm
